Edgar Buck Obituary

Edgar Lee Buck, 90, of Buckskin, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at North River Health Campus in Evansville. He was born June 4, 1933 in Buckskin, and served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked until his retirement at Whirlpool as a foreman in the paint department, then worked as a funeral assistant and door greeter for many years at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City. Edgar Lee was a member of the St. John's Church in Buckskin and was a longtime sexton for the St. John's Cemetery. He was also a life member of the American Legion. Edgar Lee was kind and knowledgeable. For Corn-Colvin Funeral Home he was the “go to guy” because he knew everyone and how to get everywhere. He was a hard worker with an amazing work ethic and they just don't make men like Ed anymore. He touched lives all around the community with his heart to serve. Edgar Lee was honest, reliable, and a brother to many. He enjoyed being with people and had a contagious laugh. Edgar Lee was loved by so many; coworkers, community, and his family who will all miss him dearly.

Edgar Lee is survived by his son, Jim Buck of Oakland City; step-son, Mark Tooley of Somerville; grandson, Jason Buck (Brooke) of Oakland City; granddaughter, Kelly Luedeke (Brad) of Columbus, Indiana; and great-grandchildren, Ragan Buck, Rhyan Buck, Joshua Luedeke, Benjamin Luedeke, and Ava Luedeke. He is also survived by his community of many friends and a funeral home family that learned so much from him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Buck and Wilma (Sunderman) Buck; brothers, Donald Buck and Robert Buck; sister, Ruth Evelyn Hart; and daughter-in-law, Tara Michele Buck.

The funeral will be held at 12:00 PM (CST) Monday, March 25, 2024 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Dr. Douglas Low. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Buckskin where the Retired Military Veterans will provide full military honors. Visiting hours will be held from 9:00AM until service time at the funeral home Monday.
