Edward Carl Wright, 88, of Princeton, IN was called home on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born January 27, 1937 in rural Mt. Carmel, IL to Vance Clifford Wright and Mildred Louise (Eagleson) Wright. Ed graduated from Owensville High School in 1955 and shortly after married the love of his life, Roxie (Cochran) Wright, July 20, 1957 and was blessed with 68 years of marriage together. During his younger years he worked at Holder’s Funeral Home and Holder’s Furniture store in Owensville, IN. He would help Paul Holder do whatever was needed done. Ed also worked in the oil fields in Illinois and Kentucky drilling wells during the earlier years. He was mostly known for his time working as a Class A machinist for various shops around Illinois and Indiana including, a shop he owned and operated with his brother Rex. Ed was a past member and 20-year trustee at Emmanuel Temple in Rockford, IL. He was a current member of Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton. Ed enjoyed reading books, especially Louis L’Amour westerns. He also liked tending to the garden and working in the yard. Ed loved spending time with his family, from fishing trips with his brothers, spending time with his many nieces and nephews, to just enjoying the company of his children and grandchildren. He was a down-to-earth guy that was loved by many and is already deeply missed.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, infant Sharron David, Dudley Wright, Clyde Wright, Waldo Wright, Gerald Wright, Geraldine Rantz, George Wright, Clifford Wright, Bonnie Watson, and Iris Walter.
He is survived by his wife, Roxie Wright; children, Virginia Lynne (David) Tureson, Edwina Leanne (Roger) Ramczyk, Cathleen Faye Wright, and Matthew (Joanna) Wright; grandchildren, Brent (Angela) Tureson, Derek (Alix) Tureson, Justin (Fallon) Tureson, Amanda (Byron) Houston, Dawn (Paul) Schlabs, Dana (David) Ysasaga, Delaney Wright, Arwen Wright, and Gideon Wright; siblings, Rex Wright, Delores Parker, and Marilyn Waldrip; 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10 AM with Pastor Mike Marsh officiating and burial to follow at Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at the funeral home from 4PM until 8PM and again Saturday from 9AM until service time.
