Joan Tackett, 88, of Princeton passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City. She was born August 6, 1937 in Princeton to Lewis and Minnie L. (Myers) Holderbaugh.
Joan was a homemaker and had resided in Princeton most of her life. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1955 and was an avid sports fan. She attended PCHS basketball games, enjoyed watching Indiana University Basketball; and you better not call her during an I.U. game because she would have to call you back. She also liked St. Louis Cardinals Baseball games.
She is survived by a daughter, Alesia G. Taylor (Steve) of Evansville; son, Michael Frederick (Loraine Mazak) of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Laura A. Kaplan (Ben); twin great-granddaughters, Violet and Louisa Kaplan; several cousins; special friends, Arial Devillez, Ronald Cox, and Mildred Cox; and her loving dog, Precious.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of thirty-seven years, Raymond Tackett who passed away in 2017.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Chaplain Randy Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family asks that those attending the visitation and/or service, to wear red in support of P.C.H.S. Tigers, I.U. Hoosiers, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
